Fally Ipupa

Fally Ipupa is a Congolese singer, songwriter and dancer known for his dynamic blend of traditional African rhythms, soukous and modern pop and R&B elements. Born on 14 December 1977 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ipupa began his musical career in the 1990s and quickly became one of his country's most prominent artists. His unique voice, charismatic stage presence and talent for catchy melodies have brought him international fame.

Fally Ipupa achieved his breakthrough as a member of the legendary band Quartier Latin International, led by the famous Congolese musician Koffi Olomidé. During his time in the band from 1999 to 2006, Ipupa developed his own style and contributed to many successful albums and hits. In 2006, he launched his solo career with the album "Droit Chemin", which was a huge success and cemented his position as one of Africa's leading musicians. Songs like "Liputa" and "Kidiamfuka" showed his ability to combine traditional Congolese music with modern influences.

Over the course of his career, Fally Ipupa has released several albums, including "Arsenal de Belles Melodies" (2009), "Power 'Kosa Leka'" (2013) and "Tokooos" (2017). Ipupa's music and diverse influences have earned him numerous awards, including several Afrimma Awards and MTV Africa Music Awards. In addition to his music career, he is also involved in humanitarian projects and is committed to social causes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With his unmistakable style and continuous innovation, Fally Ipupa remains a central figure in the African music scene.
