Alison Moyet

Alison Moyet is a British singer, songwriter and actress known for her powerful alto voice and her contributions to pop and new wave music. Born on 18 June 1961 in Billericay, Essex, England, Moyet began her musical career in the early 1980s as a member of the synthpop duo Yazoo (known as Yaz in the USA), together with Vince Clarke, a former member of Depeche Mode. The duo quickly rose to fame with hits such as "Only You" and "Don't Go".

After the break-up of Yazoo in 1983, Alison Moyet embarked on a successful solo career. Her debut album "Alf" was released in 1984 and was a huge success, reaching number one in the British charts and spawning several hit singles, including "Love Resurrection" and "All Cried Out". Her powerful voice and her ability to perform both soulful ballads and energetic pop songs earned her a loyal fan base.

In the following years, Moyet released numerous albums, including "Raindancing" (1987), "Hoodoo" (1991) and "The Minutes" (2013), which showed her musical versatility and continuous development.
