Sir Darryl Farris, better known by his stage name SiR, is an American singer and songwriter. He was born on 5 November 1986 in Inglewood, California, and began his musical career in 2012.
SiR grew up in a musical family. His mother was a backing singer for Michael Jackson and Anita Baker, and his uncle Andrew Gouche was a bassist for Prince. He is the younger brother of Grammy-nominated rapper D Smoke.
His debut album "Seven Sundays" was released in 2015 via the indie label Fresh Selects. The success of "Seven Sundays" on SoundCloud attracted the attention of Dave Free from Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), who then contacted Fresh Selects to connect him with SiR.
After signing with TDE, he released his second album "November" in 2018 and his third album "Chasing Summer" in 2019. Both albums were released by TDE in collaboration with the major label RCA Records.
In addition to his solo career, SiR has also collaborated with other artists. He was featured on Anderson .Paak's 2014 album "Venice" and has co-written songs for artists such as Ginuwine, Jill Scott and Stevie Wonder.
