From bedroom studio to global success
d4vd, pronounced "David", is real name David Anthony Burke and was born in Queens, New York, in 2005. Growing up in Houston, Texas, he found his first access to music through video games. To avoid copyright issues on YouTube, he started recording his own songs for his Fortnite videos - right in his wardrobe with an iPhone and the BandLab app. He quickly developed his very own sound between indie, alternative and R&B.
d4vd celebrated his international breakthrough in 2022 with the melancholic track "Romantic Homicide". The song, which is about broken trust and pain, became known via TikTok and climbed the charts worldwide. "Here With Me" also attracted a lot of attention - a song about the longing for closeness and memories. Both tracks made him one of the most exciting newcomers on the scene.
With his EPs Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals d4vd showed his versatility as a songwriter in 2023. His first studio album was released in 2025 Witheredwhich sounds even more personal and mature. d4vd stands for emotion, honesty and a DIY spirit that has taken him from the gaming community to international stages.
