The Guano Apes have adopted a relaxed attitude. Instead of submitting to the constraints of the music market, the band from Göttingen has distanced itself from them. They no longer produce new albums every six months, but prefer to take to the stage when they feel like it. But when the time comes, it's time to stop relaxing: anyone who has been on their first tour after the pandemic or experienced one of their energetic concerts at major festivals will know that. From the first notes of the aptly titled opener "You Can't Stop Me" to the last chord of "Lords of the Boards", the Guano Apes gave free rein to their wild animal and got every audience rocking.
This approach can certainly be called groundbreaking: While the world is becoming increasingly digital, the Guano Apes rely on the analogue. They embody the opposition and call for a return to the natural. As they themselves say: "We are closer to apes than to artificial intelligence. There is a primal force inherent in man, the old-world ape: the urge for freedom. We have been supporting this musically for around three decades, together with our audience. In the midst of the era of artificial intelligence and digital detachment, the connection with the earth and the understanding of man in nature is more important than ever. With our handmade sound, we want to help audiences find their inner compass, reconnect with nature and free their inner monkey."
